In early 2018, we plan to move our Aarhus office to a new location. Actually, it’s only about 25 meters away, but the new building and the area that surrounds it has many great stories to tell. This is the second chapter.

Why have we chosen to move in the first place? Well, it’s partly because our expanding staff needs space to work and be creative. But it’s also because we want to preserve the old sawmill and be the masters of our own building. Because when we own the building that houses our offices, we are much more creative in the way we design the office space.

We are still in the creative phase of the project and trying to figure out how to best take advantage of our new office environment – and we have a lot of ideas. One of our focus points is energy efficiency. Can we use wind and solar power to cover part of our energy consumption? Can we utilise our own energy production better than we have in the past?

At our last office building, the heat from our servers poured into the cold outside air through a huge hole in the building – what if we could use that heat energy cover a part of the heating costs? We don’t know if it’s been done effectively anywhere else – but that hasn’t stopped us before.

We are not done talking about this project just yet – and we can’t wait to show you the result when the calendar reads February 2018. Stay tuned for the next chapter.
